Forthcoming sessions

This week’s update relates to December / Christmas sessions (see below) and is a reminder that you are all very welcome to attend the final performance about Ethel on 22 November at 7.30 at The Civic Arts Centre in Oswaldtwistle. Jackie, Sarah and Margot will be singing as part of the choir so if you want to go along and support, please let Janet know asap if you would like tickets.

“In the mood for Christmas” – this is what we are calling our sessions in December. We really hope that everyone will come along for some fun, games and nibbles – oh and also some singing! If you have a favourite carol or winter song, please do bring it along next week (19th November) so that there is time to sort out music / words before our sessions in December. These sessions will be “choir led”, so if you have ideas for other activities please bring those too. Some nibbles will be provided, but if you want to bring anything else to share please do. We will also have a box for donations in lieu of everyone giving everyone else a Christmas card. As usual, the proceeds will be spent on contributions for the food bank

So please note forthcoming dates:

Tuesdays in November – led as normal by Janet (and part of the 6 week block)
3 December – NO CHOIR THIS WEEK
10 and 17 December – choir led sessions. Cost £5 (if you come on the 10th and the 17th you don’t have to pay twice).

Coming up to the end of the year

We will be reminding ourselves of some lovely seasonal songs over the next few weeks – Janet has picked a few of our favourites and a few to make us laugh. We will be meeting as normal until the end of November (the end of our 6 week block) and then paying half price for two one off sessions. These dates will be in December and are being run by Karen to include seasonal songs, games and some nibbles on at least one of the Tuesdays!

Songs for this week!

This week, let’s remind ourselves of how much we love coming to this choir by singing a song from our past, learning a new song together and doing something a bit quirky to make us laugh. So choir this week will be a lovely mix of a very old favourite (a song from War Horse), a very new song and our usual daft warm ups. I’m sure we will have a really heart warming session!
