Getting ready to sing!

To start off the year in good form we decided to meet together for a meal out. We chose an Italian restaurant and Carole very kindly organised everything for us.

It was a fun start to the year, a chance to catch up with each other’s news and to get ready to sing together in the year ahead.

We return to our usual sessions from 15th Jan, every Tuesday, at 7pm Brierfield Library.

Thank you to Diane and Margot for the photos.

Happy Christmas.

We all had a great time singing at a Christmas Concert, in Haslingden, in aid of Rossendale Dementia Choir, along with Readstone Ladies’ Choir.

Here’s a video of our first song. ‘I heard a bird sing’.

Finally a message from Janet.

‘I just want to say thank you so much to you all, for your hard work learning your parts, and for performing so magnificently. You made me very proud of you 😀.’

Songs for the Journey at Minsteracres.

The weekend singing at Minsteracres was a delight for all. We wakened up to snow on Saturday morning, a great surprise, but the building was lovely and warm and we carried on singing.

Eventually the sun came out, the snow melted and we were bathed in sunshine for the rest of the weekend, feeling quite warm in sunny corners of the garden, despite the ever present cold wind.

The singing led by Janet Swan was great fun and we all had a sense of achievement when we learnt a song and we sounded so good! Karen Smith helped out playing her guitar too. The evening singing Taize chants in the chapel had a great sense of peace for us all.

We can’t wait for next year. Thank you Janet for all the hard work and of course Karen, contributing so well to the weekend.

Thank you to Diane Halstead and Margot Small for the photos and to David Ross for creating the beautiful ‘path’ in the chapel.
