The weekend singing at Minsteracres was a delight for all. We wakened up to snow on Saturday morning, a great surprise, but the building was lovely and warm and we carried on singing.
Eventually the sun came out, the snow melted and we were bathed in sunshine for the rest of the weekend, feeling quite warm in sunny corners of the garden, despite the ever present cold wind.
The singing led by Janet Swan was great fun and we all had a sense of achievement when we learnt a song and we sounded so good! Karen Smith helped out playing her guitar too. The evening singing Taize chants in the chapel had a great sense of peace for us all.
We can’t wait for next year. Thank you Janet for all the hard work and of course Karen, contributing so well to the weekend.
Thank you to Diane Halstead and Margot Small for the photos and to David Ross for creating the beautiful ‘path’ in the chapel.
We celebrated our choir’s fifth birthday on the 12th March by visiting the One Sixty Restaurant. The restaurant has recently been refurbished and is under new management. The food was delicious and the service excellent. We thought the main meals were delicious and many of us said we couldn’t eat a dessert … until they came! We did of course sing for our supper too.
